Cana Samaria: For divorced remarried couples

For couples living in a new relationship after divorce or separation

Many of us have been shaken by a separation or a divorce in our family. What can be done? What do we say to couples who have “started a new life together” and are asking themselves questions about their relationship to God and to other Christians and about their place in the Church?

We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Cor 5, 20

The risen Jesus has promised every single person that He is present in his or her life. There is no human situation beyond the grace of God... Every baptised person is called to see their life not as a dead-end but as path of conversion; and not in isolation, but as a member of the Church.

Couples in which one or both are in a new relationship after a separation or divorce have for the last thirteen years been meeting for weekends or weeks of formation and fellowship organised by Cana.

These meetings for reflection and sharing aim above all to encourage the discovery of God's mercy. Their objective is thereby to bring peace to our hearts, reconciliation in our family relationships and integration into the life of the Church.
